⚛️ Privacy Policy — The Q Word

Last updated September 23, 2026

The Q Word ("the app") is a daily word puzzle. This page explains what data it does and doesn't handle.

What we collect

The Q Word does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDKs of any kind.

What's stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of game state locally on your device only, including:

• Today's puzzle seed (so you see the same word all day)
• Your in-progress guesses for today's puzzle

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Network requests the app makes

To pick the day's word and background image, the app requests:

• QeNTROPY (q-runtime.onrender.com) — a public entropy API that returns a random seed value. No personal or device-identifying information is sent with this request.
• Bing's daily image API — used to select a background photo. No personal information is sent with this request.

Neither service receives your name, guesses, location, or any other personal information.

Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what data it collects (for example, adding accounts or sync), this page will be updated first.
